The Fox News show Red Eye hosted by Greg Gutfeld continues to air transphobic remarks at the expense of various transgender people in the public spotlight, now focusing his attention on a boxer transitioning from male to female. We first called Mr Gutfeld out for his outrageous transphobic and horrific remarks about the "Pregnant Man" FTM, Thomas Beatie. He also spewed out offensive remarks against openly gay congressman Barney Frank.

some things didnt surprise me that he said them at all, and other things, i almost agreed with.

i don't exactly think i's fair for him to continue boxing as a woman, because whether your sensitive about the issue or not, he STILL has an unfair advantage... as he lived life as a man, he was subject to the advantages of bigger bulk and muscle strength, so he's going to be fighting women, who, yes, are very strong and can kick my whole family's ass, but... i dunno. it just seems like even though he changes himnself, the odds are still stacked since he's most likely bigger than the majority of female boxers. or maybe i'm sexist. i don't think i am though.

The part that bothered me the most was, "Of COURSE he lost all his friends." Implying that what she's doing is wrong, and that she deserves to be shunned.

I don't think you're sexist, but I think you may not be real familiar with boxing. Of course there's an advantage to size and muscle bulk (there are also disadvantages). That's why there's weight classes. It's not like they're going to put her in the ring with some 95 lb waif. She will be boxing with women in a similar weight class, and largely similar experience.

but what if there *is* no one in her wight class? are there a lot of body-builder size women or are they mostly just trim and muscular? even women who do body building don't get as big as lot of men who box (that i've seen.)

but! you make a pretty conclusive point. and yeah, i'm not very familiar with boxing.

Well, heavyweight for women (though not super common, it certainly exists) is 175lbs+

Throw in the effect hormones will probably have on her body (loss of dense muscle...), and I think she'll find a place. There are a lot of 'if's and 'probably's in this equation, though.
